The Rally to Restore Sanity brought thousands of people to the National Mall in Washington DC Halloween weekend. Much of the US mainstream media was criticized by comedians John Stewart and Stephen Colbert for failing to report in a way that informs people. Stewart tried to make the point that corporate media is only part of a bigger problem that the US is facing currently.

58 dead in Baghdad church siege as Iraqi forces storm building

A deadly siege in Baghdad by a group of militants on Sunday ended with 52 dead and scores more wounded. Men in suicide vests and armed with grenades took an entire congregation hostage in one of the city's largest Christian churches. The standoff ended when Iraqi troops stormed the building and the firefight that ensued left the gunmen, some security forces and many of the hostages dead. Jim Brenn, member of the anti-war group "Stop the War Coalition" told RT about the security situation the country faces after the withdrawal of American combat troops.
