At least 10,000 people have marched in Greece to protest the government's economic reforms.
The May Day rally was marred by violence as groups of rioters clashed with police.
One officer was set on fire when molotov cocktails were hurled at security forces.
Workers are angry at the government's plan to impose even tougher spending cuts, as it seeks a financial rescue package from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Police have used tear gas on protesters during a May Day march on the streets of Athens. Tens of thousands gathered in rallies called by trade unions and left-wing parties in protest against government austerity measures. The country's facing tax increases, pay and pension cuts, as Parliament struggles to solve the debt problem.
