Dr Skinner is the Director of Bio-Pharma, Health and Insurance policy at the Fraser Institute. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario (London) where he has taught courses in both the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Department of Political Science. He earned a BA (Hon.) from the University of Windsor (Ontario) and an MA through joint studies at the University of Windsor and Wayne State University (Michigan).

Student fears in jobless America
Barack Obama, the US president, sounded a positive note on Friday following the reports of a rise in regional employment opportunities when he spoke to workers at a company in the state of North Carolina.
The president said the US economy still had a long way to go until it fully recovers, and that many people were still suffering the effects of the recession.
Among those facing grim employment prospects are university students. With graduation time approaching, those leaving school are entering a bleak labour market.

April 2 (Bloomberg) -- Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and JP Morgan Chase & Co. arent doing Gods work when it comes to derivatives, according to investor groups of nuns and priests. Shareholders will vote starting this month on proposals sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth and 14 other religious organizations, asking Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Citigroup Inc. and Bank of America Corp. to give more information on the collateral used in their derivatives trading.
